ASEAN peacekeepers met in Cambodia’s capital city of Phnom Penh on October 7 for a two-day professional exchange.
According to a report from the UN Development Programme (UNDP), the nearly 5,000 peacekeepers from ASEAN state members account for 5 percent of the UN peacekeeping force.
Cambodia is ranked third in the region in the number of personnel joining the mission with 880 people active in parts of the world in conflict including Sudan, Chad, the Central African Republic, Mali, Lebanon and Syria.
