Divers find bodies belted in seats near fuselage

Indonesian investigators say they may release some initial findings next week into last month's crash of an AirAsia passenger jet. But the full preliminary report will not yet be made public.

An Indonesian diver and an official examining the wreckage from AirAsia flight QZ8501 after it was lifted into the Crest Onyx ship at sea.

Indonesian divers say they found five bodies on January 22, still belted into their seats near the main section of the plane. The fuselage was spotted on the seabed last week, but poor sea conditions are still preventing divers from reaching it.

The jet's black boxes were recovered last week, and are being analysed. 58 bodies have now been found since the crash, which happened on December 28th. The plane disappeared in stormy weather as it flew from Indonesia to Singapore.

Earlier this week, the Indonesian Transport Minister said black box data showed the plane climbed abnormally fast before stalling and plunging into the sea. Just moments before it disappeared from radar, the pilot requested the climb to avoid a major storm.
