At least 26 terrorists were killed and dozens of others were injured on July 31 in an air strike by the Egyptian Army’s Apache helicopter in the southern city of Sheikh Zeweid, North Sinai.
The air strike destroyed several vehicles equipped with explosives and used for terrorism activities.
According the Egyptian Army, the air strike is aimed at preventing a large-scale attack at a military checkpoint in Sheikh Zuweid. Last week, the Egyptian armed forces raided the city, killing 12 terrorists of “Sinai State”, who vowed to be part of the Islamic State militant group and claimed responsibility for a number of attacks on the north Sinai’s police and military forces.
