Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is set to reshuffle his cabinet for the second time since he took office in December, 2012.
The reshuffle follows a big dive in approval ratings for the prime minister in recent months after the Abe government and ruling bloc enacted controversial security legislation widely viewed as unconstitutional.
On October 6, Mr. Abe discussed with Sadakazu Tanigaki, Secretary General of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), final details of the reshuffle. According to local reports, key government ministers like Finance Minister Taro Aso, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga, Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida and Akira Amari, Minister of Economic and Fiscal Policy, will retain their positions.
