Laos, Cuba pledge to enhance cooperation

General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith has received Roberto Morales Ojeda, Politburo member and Permanent member of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee’s Secretariat, highlighting the two countries’ commitment to enhance cooperation.

The Lao leader described the visit by the Cuban official as a significant contribution to the traditional relations and solidarity between the Parties, States and people of Laos and Cuba, the Lao News Agency (KPL) reported.

He affirmed Laos’s continued cooperation with Cuba to promote the bilateral relations more fruitfully.

At the meeting, Roberto Morales expressed his delight at the two countries’ relations.

During his visit to Laos, the visiting Cuban official had talks with Bounthong Chitmany, Permanent member of the Lao Party Central Committee Secretariat and Vice President of Laos.

The two sides informed each other about outstanding issues in their respective countries and exchanged viewpoints on regional and international issues of common interest.

They also signed three agreements, including an agreement on exchange and cooperation between the two Parties, along with cooperation deals between the countries’ Party schools and youth organisations./.
