Earlier in the day, Mohamed Al-Kilani, member of the national assembly for Zawia city, told Xinhua that competition about the Assembly's presidency is set between two members only, namely, Maqrif from Benghazi and Abdel-Rahman Swehli from Misurata.
On Wednesday, Libya's National Transitional Council handed over power to the newly elected national assembly. The Assembly is due to begin its work within a week, according to official LANA news agency.
