President Quang sends congratulatory letter to AIPA 38

President Tran Dai Quang has sent a congratulatory letter to Pantaleon Alvarez, Speaker of the Philippines’ House of Representatives, who will chair the 38th ASEAN Inter-parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) in Manila from Thursday, September 14.

President Quang applauded the conference’s theme “AIPA and ASEAN: partnering for inclusive change” as indicating an important step forward for AIPA and ASEAN towards a brighter future for Southeast Asia and each member country.

Amid global and regional complexity and uncertainty, the ASEAN Community has made effort to maintain solidarity, unity, and development with the 2025 Vision, consolidate ASEAN’s central role in addressing traditional and non-traditional security challenges, maintain regional peace and stability, and settle disputes through peaceful means on the basis of international law.

The State leader said he believes that AIPA will continue to uphold its role as a regional legislative organization to enhance connectivity between ASEAN’s legislative and executive agencies to bring practical benefits to the people.

He added the Vietnamese National Assembly proactively participates in AIPA’s activities to help build an ASEAN Community toward sustainable development.

He also displayed his belief in the success of the 38th AIPA General Assembly as a result of the thorough preparation of the Philippine parliament and close cooperation of participating delegations.
