Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev arrived in the Philippines on November 12 to attend the 31st ASEAN Summit (ASEAN-31) and related meetings, and the 12th East Asia Summit (EAS) in Manila.

At the EAS, Russia will put forth an initiative in the area of fighting terrorism and terrorism ideology spread. It’s necessary to further promote consultations launched earlier on regional security issues. according to the Russian Government’s spokesperson.

Russia aims at an efficient cooperation with all EAS partners, promoting the agenda to maintain peace and security as well as stable and sustainable development of the Asian-Pacific region.
