During the talks, both sides discussed measures to enhance collaboration in agriculture, trade and investment promotion, development in border areas between the two nations, and bilateral coordination at regional and international forums.

Also the day, the Cambodian leader delivered a speech at the Thailand-Cambodia Business Forum, during which he called for expanded investment cooperation between the two countries in energy and tourism – the spearhead economic sector of both sides.

The two PMs will co-chair a joint cabinet meeting on December 19 to debate ways to foster cooperation in key fields of common concern such as politics, economics, and culture-society.

They will witness a signing ceremony of four documents: the second joint cabinet meeting’s joint declaration, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on development of cross-border control facilities and the construction of a bridge and roads between the Thai province of Takeo and Cambodia’s Banteay Meanchey province; an MoU on labour cooperation; and an agreement on the employment.

According data from the Cambodian Ministry of Trade, two-way trade has recorded stably growth, increasing to 5 billion USD in 2014 from 4 billion USD in 2012. The figure is expected to exceed 5 billion USD this year.

The Cambodian PM’s visit to Thailand is part of activities to celebrate the 65th anniversary of diplomatic ties and to promote the bilateral relations between the two nations.
