U.S. police arrest two suspects in Oklahoma shootings

U.S. police on Sunday arrested two suspects for Friday's shootings that left three people dead and two seriously wounded, all black, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Police acting on a tip arrested two white men, Jake England, 19, and Alvin Watts, 32, on Sunday morning at a home north of Tulsa on charges of first-degree murder and shooting with intent to kill, police said.

Police were investigating whether the shootings, which happened in a predominantly black neighborhood, were hate crimes, according to U.S. media reports.

The shooting death of England's father two year ago led to charges against a black man, said Tulsa Police Captain Jonathan Brooks.

The dead were identified as Dannaer Fields, 49, Bobby Clark, 54, and William Allen, 31. The two wounded men, who were not identified, were in critical condition but expected to survive.

All the victims were out walking or in a yard when the shootings happened, according to police.

The first shooting occurred at about 1 a.m. Friday, and the victim, Dannaer Fields, died at a hospital.

Three minutes later, two other people were shot near the suspect's vehicle. Those two victims were critically wounded but expected to survive, authorities said.

Another person was shot to death before 2 a.m. Friday. And the body of a third person killed was found at around 8 a.m. next to a funeral home, according to police.

Police were interrogating the two men Sunday morning and did not yet know their motive, according to local media reports.
