Half a century following the reunification of the country, Binh Duong has transformed from an impoverished rural region into a contemporary industrial and urban hub. In addition to its industrial advancements, Binh Duong is committed to cultivating a high-quality trade and service sector, featuring numerous large-scale projects that meet international standards.

Smart City - Integrating Progress

In an interview with reporters, Economic Expert Dr. Tran Du Lich stated that several factors have significantly contributed to Binh Duong's success over the past 28 years. The primary factors include the enhancement of the investment environment through comprehensive administrative procedure reforms; innovative advancements in the development model of concentrated industrial parks (IPs) leveraging locational, topographical, and soil advantages; substantial improvements in transportation infrastructure, IP infrastructure, and the infrastructure of new urban areas; and the promotion of trade and services by utilizing local government tools to attract investment.

Indeed, as the industry transitions into a phase that necessitates more sustainable development, Binh Duong is committed to attracting high-tech and green industrial projects. Additionally, the region aims to draw green commercial, financial, urban, and logistics initiatives to establish a robust foundation for businesses, leveraging science, technology, and digital transformation as catalysts for innovation.

Binh Duong continues to demonstrate significant transformations, establishing itself as a desirable location for living, working, and investing. Notably, Binh Duong Smart City - Innovation Zone is evolving into one of the dynamic development centers; a crucial hub linking the provinces and cities of the Southern Key Economic Zone; a modern industrial-urban center that is embarking on a roadmap toward becoming a smart city in the future. Binh Duong Smart City is increasingly recognized as a center for trade and services, with ongoing enhancements contributing to the emergence of an ecological and livable urban area.

According to economic expert Dr. Tran Du Lich, businesses investing in production and business projects in this region seek partnership, support, and collaboration for mutual development. Simultaneously, they aim to leverage the potential and advantages available to contribute to the socio-economic objectives of Binh Duong.

Mr. Pham Ngoc Thuan, General Director of Becamex IDC Corporation, stated that since its establishment, Binh Duong New City has been envisioned as the new political and administrative hub of Binh Duong, evolving into a center for science, education, finance, and high-quality services; a focal point for international trade and commerce activities. From an investor's standpoint, Mr. Oh Dongkun, General Director of Becamex Tokyu Co., Ltd., affirmed the company's commitment to advancing urban development in Binh Duong New City by leveraging the insights gained from the Tokyu Tama Den-en Toshi urban model in the suburbs of Tokyo, Japan, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of Binh Duong.

Establishing a network of urban services

Aiming to establish itself as a prominent international service center, Binh Duong is focused on advancing its high-quality trade and service sector. The region places particular emphasis on attracting logistics services, high-quality trade and service offerings, industrial production support services, and large-scale complex models, alongside medical, educational, and cultural projects that enhance the community's quality of life. Binh Duong actively promotes investment in the development of diverse and appealing tourism products that reflect its unique identity, prioritizing key tourism types such as conference and exhibition tourism (MICE), creative tourism, and sports tourism, which aims to position Binh Duong as a hub for national and international sports events. Additionally, the region seeks to foster resort tourism and cultural tourism to highlight its cultural and historical heritage, traditional craft villages, and indigenous cultural values.

Ms. Huynh Dinh Thai Linh, Director of the World Trade Center Binh Duong New City (WTC BDNC), stated that with the highest urbanization rate in the nation, Binh Duong possesses significant potential and opportunities for breakthroughs in trade and services, urban development, and financial investment. The establishment and growth of WTC BDNC are designed to foster connectivity and support the domestic business community in expanding international trade, transforming Binh Duong into a vibrant destination characterized by diverse services and a skilled workforce capable of engaging in global trade, while simultaneously enhancing the appeal of real estate projects in the region. The WTC BDNC complex will serve as a focal point, evolving into an international trade center that promotes the advancement of trade and services, culture and society, and science and technology, while attracting new talent.

To date, numerous significant investors in the trade and services sector have established a presence in Binh Duong. Notably, in Binh Duong New City, the construction of the WTC Tower (Becamex Trade and Service Office Building within the WTC BDNC Master Project) not only completes the utility chain necessary to attract further investment but also serves as a catalyst for stimulating trade and drawing investors to develop their businesses in the area. Mr. Huang Wei Han, General Director of TC Hotel (Hoa Phu Ward, Thu Dau Mot City), has remarked that Binh Duong New City is poised to emerge as a new "hot spot" for fostering economic exchange, trade and services, research, development, and technology transfer; it represents an ideal destination for work, residence, recreation, and education for all. Furthermore, it serves as a venue for cultural exchange between Vietnam and other nations worldwide. This environment will generate a diverse and stable employment base for local residents, attract high-quality labor to live and work here, and cultivate future intellectual communities.

Binh Duong has demonstrated that the inheritance and promotion of traditional values is essential for establishing a sustainable, modern, and internationally integrated community.

Binh Duong is advancing the development of regional trade and services along key transportation corridors, establishing financial centers, office buildings, and service centers connected to public transport routes. The initiative includes the creation of primary traffic routes and hubs to foster development momentum, the renovation of existing residential areas, and the establishment of a network of service-oriented urban areas in accordance with the Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) model. This is linked to the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway Project, the Ho Chi Minh City - Loc Ninh railway, and the Suoi Tien - Thu Dau Mot - Bau Bang urban railway.
