Early March 27, Dau Tieng district’s Association for Victims of Agent Orange (AO)/ Dioxin held its first congress for the 2018-2023 tenure.
Established on December 28, 2012, the association has so far had a total of 104 members. Over the past five years, sectors, authorities at all levels of the district and the association paid more attention to taking care of AO victims. The association and its branches mobilized nearly VND 900million from organizations and individuals to support AO victims. Particularly, the association presented 578 gifts; built 10 houses, upgraded 2 others to AO victims; awarded scholarships to their children…, contributing to improving their lives.
The congress elected an executive board of the association for the 2018-2023 tenure with 17 members. Nguyen Thi Thu, former Chairwoman of the district’s People’s Committee was nominated as Chairwoman of the association.
On this occasion, the association offered 104 gifts worth VND200,000 each to the local AO victims.
