Intelligently promoting the execution of "Civilized Saturday"

In the context of dynamic development and rapid urbanization, Di An City is solidifying its status as a civilized and modern metropolis. A significant highlight contributing to its green, clean, and aesthetically pleasing environment is the widespread implementation of the "Civilized Saturday" initiative across the region. More than a mere formal activity, this movement has delved deeply into fostering a sense of responsibility and community awareness among citizens, neighborhoods, and organizations through specific and practical tasks.

Residents of Di An City unite to clean canals, ditches, and the surrounding environment

Pragmatic measures

Imbued with the ethos of “Skilled Mass Mobilization,” the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Di An City Party Committee led and advised the City Party Committee in the systematic, comprehensive, and effective implementation of “Civilized Saturday.” During a single peak period, the city recorded the participation of over 2,500 individuals across seven wards, engaging in a series of meaningful activities. These included distributing trees to wards and residents, planting trees along roadways, launching urban beautification initiatives, promoting environmental protection, and preserving urban aesthetics, all of which reflect a commitment to cultivating a green, clean, and beautiful Di An through even the smallest actions.

Notably, the movement's objectives extend beyond environmental sanitation; they are intricately connected to the realization of the "4 Good" city initiative, the "5 Exemplary" citizen model, and the portrayal of Di An residents as kind, compassionate, and civilized in their conduct. These fundamental values are manifested through consistent weekly activities, gradually cultivating new habits and lifestyles within the community.

In the endeavor to promote the implementation of "Civilized Saturday," one cannot overlook the pivotal role of neighborhoods—the entities that directly execute and disseminate the movement throughout all facets of life. In the Tan Hiep neighborhood (Tan Binh ward), activities such as cleaning, planting flowers, removing advertisements, and educating residents to prevent their pets from roaming freely have gradually integrated into the weekend routine. Initiatives such as dredging ditches, reinforcing embankments, and enhancing drainage culverts have markedly improved the infrastructure of residential areas.

In Dong Chieu A Quarter (Tan Dong Hiep Ward), the "Civilized Saturday" initiative is consistently implemented, featuring numerous effective models such as the mobilization of alley concreting, construction of drainage culverts, and renovation of traffic routes. Concurrently, the community's awareness regarding waste collection and the preservation of urban aesthetics has gradually improved. Specifically, the execution of "Civilized Saturday" receives regular attention from Dong Chieu A Quarter, with various campaigns conducted along roads such as Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Chieu Lieu, and DT743C, alongside the installation of 432 flagpoles. Additionally, 20 households on Alley 170 Chieu Lieu Street were engaged to pour concrete for rainwater drainage culverts spanning 90 meters, with a total expenditure of approximately 70 million VND. Furthermore, the quarter has successfully mobilized all households on Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street to participate in daily waste collection, ensuring that trash bins are not placed or left on sidewalks, thereby maintaining urban beauty. Efforts continue to engage 223 households in Alley 160 Doan Thi Kia Street to reconstruct a road approximately 200 meters in length.

The initiative to establish “Civilized Saturday” in Di An City represents a concerted effort to cultivate a cultural lifestyle, fostering a sense of pride in one’s community among all citizens. From government officials to residents, and from law enforcement to community groups, there is a collective commitment to developing a livable, humane, and modern Di An City

Mr. Le Minh Dung, Head of the Chieu Lieu Ward Management Board, is a committed and proficient leader in engaging the community in urban beautification, drainage system development, and asphalt road construction. The sum of over 2 billion VND represents the funds he and the ward leaders have successfully mobilized from residents to create a civilized and clean living environment, serving as a clear testament to the unity within the local community.

Mr. Dung stated that recently, he has taken a proactive and adaptable approach in mobilizing cadres, union members, association members, and individuals within self-governing groups to adhere to local regulations and engage in the implementation of "Civilized Saturday" in the area through various campaigns. He has been actively promoting and encouraging the community to effectively execute Project 02, contributing to the development of green, clean, and aesthetically pleasing streets by regularly participating in cleaning efforts, disposing of waste appropriately, constructing stormwater drainage systems, and paving roads, among other initiatives.

One movement, numerous disseminating values

Not only does it inspire the spirit of each individual, but many neighborhoods also establish distinctive models to sustain the movement. In the Trung Thang neighborhood (Binh Thang ward), initiatives aimed at promoting traffic safety, environmental sanitation, waste collection, and the organization of electrical systems and greenery are consistently upheld. Even minor actions, such as reminding residents not to encroach upon roadways or displaying flags in accordance with regulations, significantly contribute to fostering an orderly and civilized lifestyle.

In the Noi Hoa 1 neighborhood (Binh An ward), numerous initiatives have transformed the urban landscape of this area. Classified advertisements were gathered, solar lighting systems were implemented, and flagpoles were erected along the streets in accordance with established standards, resulting in a vibrant new appearance.

Mr. Tran Ngoc Thu, Head of the Dong A Ward Management Board (Dong Hoa Ward), stands out for his efforts alongside local organizations to uphold the "Urban Civilization" initiative. He has actively reminded residents to prevent ornamental plants and trash bins from obstructing roadways, facilitated the installation of lighting and security cameras, and promoted cleanliness in the residential area through community resources.

Through concrete measures, innovative strategies, and the collective agreement of the community, "Civilized Saturday" in Di An is progressively fostering a green, clean, and aesthetically pleasing city that embodies the essence of urban culture and civilization.
