In 2010, Phu Giao district’s Steering Board of the “Day for the Poor” has extracted the local State budget and mobilized donors in and out of the district to build and donate 105 gratitude and compassion houses worth more than VND2.8bln to the poor.
The district has also disbursed VND12.5bln in loan for 625 poor households to develop homebased business; VND8.7bln for 1,500 pupils and students to pursue their learning; more than VND2.9bln for 363 households to upgrade and build works on clean water and environmental hygiene; more than VND8.9bln for 346 households living in poor areas to develop homebased business…
The above-mentioned support policies have contributed to helping many households rise up out of poverty, contributing to reducing the ratio of poor households in the district this year to 3.84%.
