Early May 17, the 10th provincial Trade Union congress for the 2018-2023 tenure took place at provincial Convention and Exhibition Center. With the theme of “Renewal, creation, solidarity, responsibility for sustainable development”, provincial Trade Unions at all levels will make stronger improvement in both content and form in order to better protect laborers’ rights and interests, actually being a firm and reliable mainstay of civil servants and laborers; be more attractive to laborers and win enterprises’ support.
Attending the event were Bui Van Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Tran Van Nam, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly delegation; Pham Van Canh, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Council; Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; Nguyen Thanh Liem, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Le Huu Phuoc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Propaganda and Education together with 435 delegates representing nearly 700,000 trade unionists and more than 1 million civil servants and workers in the province.

In the 2013-2018 tenure, provincial Trade Unions at all levels surmounted obstacles, challenges; attached special importance to improving both in operational content and form in order to better care and protect laborers’ legitimate rights and interests; continued boosting law dissemination among laborers, especially those working for enterprises; focused on developing trade union locals in association with enhancing operational quality; recommended outstanding trade unionists to the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Provincial Trade Unions at all levels also actively coordinated with functional agencies in inspection and supervision in order to opportunely deal with labor disputes and strikes under the law, contributing to maintaining the local security and order; maintained the organization of dialogues with trade union officials and laborers, contributing to building harmonious, stable and advanced labor relations; regularly realized a task of taking care of trade unionists and laborers’ spiritual and material lives via many practical activities, contributing to helping them keep their mind on work and have long attachment with enterprises and the locality.
At the congress, Truong Thi Bich Hanh, Chairwoman of provincial Labor Union said that although making efforts, provincial Trade Union faced shortcomings in operation for change. In order to better take care of civil servants and laborers, the congress set overall targets for the 2018-2023 tenure, including improving in both operational content and form; giving training for laborers; admitting more trade unionists and building strong trade union locals in enterprises; boosting dialogues between laborers and enterprises to build harmonious, stable and advanced labor relations, contributing to the local socio-economic development…
To achieve the above targets, provincial Trade Union will bend on 4 breakthrough tasks, comprising of improving both in operation content and form in businesses; enhancing the quality of trade union officials; raising the quality and quantity of mass labor deals; establishing a support network for trade union locals, officials and laborers at industrial parks.
Accordingly, the congress put forward a variety of solutions such as focusing on admitting more trade unionists and building a strong Trade Union; improving the operational quality and effectiveness of trade union officials; grasping trade union officials, members and laborers’ aspirations for timely support; enhancing the quality and quantity of mass labor deals…
Concluding the conference, Mr.Nam applauded achievements done by provincial Trade Unions at all level in the last tenure while emphasizing that they need to speed up law dissemination among civil servants and laborers. He also suggested provincial Trade Union at all levels to further improve in both operational content and form in line with the local real situation; effectively implement an overall project on “Improving provincial Trade Union’s operational content and form in the new context” in association with well executing the Resolution No.18-NQ/TW of the 6th plenary session of the 12th Party Central Committee on “Some issues related to streamlining the apparatus of the political system and enhancing its efficiency and effectiveness”, with a goal of building qualified trade union officials from provincial to grassroots levels; set up a support network for laborers at industrial parks and enterprises with a large number of laborers…
