Late July 1, Vietnam Social Insurance coordinated with Ministry of Health to organize an online conference on implementation of medical insurance in the first 6 months of 2015.
By May 31, 2015, 64.6 million nationwide have joined medical insurance increasing by 2.7 million equivalent to 4.4% higher than 2014 with coverage of 71.4% nationwide. As for families joining medical insurance, the participants have increased by over 400,000 by the end of 2014, equivalent to the increase of 5.4%. The outcome proves that the new governing law has been put into life and approved by the public.
By June 30 in Binh Duong Province, 1.5 people or 78% of the local population have joined medical insurance. The participants of medical insurance increase year on year, with over 50,000 working people covering medical insurance. The quantity of students and families joining medical insurance increase by 60,000 people a year.
By implementing Resolution No. 21-NQ/TW of Politburo on “Improving leadership of the Party in medical and social insurance from 2012 through 2020”, Binh Duong Province aims at ensuring 75% to 80% of the public joining medical insurance in 2015 and by 84% in 2020.
