According to the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) Management Board, additional 26 businesses at VSIP 1 and VSIP 2 last year established trade union locals with 2,861 trade unionists. The figure has brought the total number of businesses at these Ips so far to 170 with a total of 38,181 trade unionists.
Last year, the VSIP Management Board also joined hands with provincial Home Affairs Department, provincial Labor Union and VSIP’s Trade Union to organize a conference to extend the Government’s Decree No.87/2007/ND-CP dated May 28, 2007 and the Vietnam Labor General Confederation’s Circular No.32/2007/TTLT-BLDTBXH on the Democratic Regulation to representatives of employers and trade union locals. This contributed to protecting laborers’ legislative rights & interests and helping businesses enhance their effectiveness in production and trading activities.
