1,700 doses of Covid-19 allocated by Ministry of Health in stage 1 in Binh Duong province

According to Decision No. 1469/QD-BYT of the Ministry of Health on the distribution of Covid-19 vaccines, Binh Duong province was allocated 1,700 doses of Covid-19 by the Ministry of Health. Specifically, local Center for Disease Control was allocated 1,200 doses, and General Hospital 500 doses in stage 1 of Covid-19 vaccine (AstraZeneca vaccine) distribution.

According to the Ministry of Health, starting from the morning of March 8, Vietnam will deploy the first injections of Covid-19 vaccine of AstraZeneca to 3 medical facilities, including 2 facilities in the North and the others in the South. AstraZeneca vaccine is licensed by the World Health Organization (WTO) for global use in emergency situations.

As of February 25, this vaccine has been approved for circulation and use in 25 nations including Vietnam. This vaccine is administered intramuscularly to people of 18 years of age and older. Reactions may occur following the vaccination, the most common side effects are headache, nausea, muscle pain, joint pain, tenderness, burning at the injection spot, fatigue, restlessness, fever (commonly low-grade fever of over 38 degrees Celsius), chills, etc. In addition, from 1 to less than 10% of injected people have signs of swelling and redness at the injection spot.

It is known that Covid-19 vaccine consists of 2 doses for 2 injections as the first injection would not immediately produce antibodies against the virus but it must come in the second injection. Within the period between the first and the second injection, the vaccination is considered as incomplete. Currently, Covid-19 vaccine cannot be administered to all people, so even those who have been vaccinated must strictly follow the message of "5K", especially masks and anti-epidemic measures.
