Provincial People’s Committee, on August 23, held a conference to review the three-year implementation of the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction from 2016 to 2018, in attendance of Dang Minh Hung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee.
The number of poor households in the province, as of July, 2018, reduced to 1,850. Currently, the province has no more poor households under the central poverty line. The result came from the efforts by the local authorities at all levels. The province’s poverty reduction work also received consensus from organizations and individuals over the past time. Particularly, since 2016, provincial Fund for the Poor and its branches have received more than VND21billion from organizations and individuals…
Addressing the conference, Mr.Hung instructed provincial Steering Board for Poverty Reduction and its branches to recheck a list of poor and near-poor households in order to make policies for them; mobilize resources to help the poor get access to preferential policies and actively create jobs for them to rise up out of poverty.
On this occasion, provincial People’s Committee awarded the certificates of merit to 10 collectives, 20 individuals with excellent achievements in the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the period of 2016 to 2018. Other 40 outstanding collectives and individuals also received the certificates of merit of provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs. In addition, 126 poor households were given gifts from the local State budget and other resources.
