On Sep 25th, provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment in collaboration with Women's Union organized a conference to summarize 5-year implementation of environmental and natural resources protection activities in the 2011-2015.
Nguyen Thi Thu Hong, Chairwoman of Provincial Women's Union, conferred certificates of merit on 4 collectives having outstanding achievements in environmental protection works in the 2011-2015.
During the 2011-2015, Department of Natural Resources and Environment provided VND539 million for provincial Women's Union, assigned officials to give training and join environmental activities of Women's Union. Provincial Women's Union also encouraged women to take part in environmental and natural resources protection activities in many forms, such as: organizing contests of “Initiative for Environmental Protection and Resource Use Management", "Environmental Protection Creative Ideas ", “Women and Environment "; launching campaigns of “Building family of “5 no, 3 clean”. The Union opened 64 training courses of environmental knowledge for nearly 7,700 female members. At the present, Provincial Women's Union and affiliates established and have maintained 189 environmental protection clubs, groups; built up urban civilized lifestyle with nearly 5,500 members. · * On the same day, Provincial Women's Union organized a painting contest, exhibition of environmental protection recycled products. 100 contestants from 10 teams of 9 localities and 3 Women’s Union branches of Military, Fire preventing fighting police, Public security took part in the contest. Each team painted 2 works on environmental protection in 120 minutes. Teams also exhibited recycled things, participate in fashion show with clothes from environmentally friendly materials.
