On May 21, the Ho Chi Minh City department of Tourism, the Ho Chi Minh City department of Agriculture and Rural Development and Suoi Tien Tourism JSC co-held a press conference on introducing the 2015 Southern Fruit Festival. The event will be opened on June 1 and lasted till June 20 with many lively activities to honor the Southern region-based farmers’ value of production and cultivation.
The festival’s highlighted character lies in fruit floating market with 50 stalls displaying all specialty fruits nationwide with famous kinds of fruits such as Hoang Gia Vinh Long grapefruit, Long An dragon fruit, Tien Giang longan, Binh Phuoc papaya, Lai Thieu durian and mangosteen and more.
At the festival, aside from the fruit floating market, exhibition on strange and rare fruits is also held. In addition, there will be an area introducing strange, precious and rare seeds.
The festival is to honor fruit arrangement art. This annual cultural activity aims at developing and honoring a traditional trade of the Southern people.
