After 3 years of launching credit program for pupils and students, Social Policy Bank has co-joined departments and localities to offer totally VND 201.508 billion of loans to 24,278 turns of students and 20,293 households. The loans help students to continue schooling while their family can settle down. This program is of utmost meaningful to create social balance and conditions for human resources quality improvement.
In school year 2001-12, it is expected that loans of about VND 60 billion, of which due circulation is VND 15. The remaining VND 45 billion will be transferred to local social policy bank by the central policy bank.
At a meeting semi-reviewing 3 years of Prime Minister’s Decision No. 157/QD-TTg implementation regarding credit loans provided to pupils and students, Provincial People’s Committee Deputy Chairman Huynh Van Nhi demanded that the bank should prepare special conditions for pupils and students and promote broadcasting the program through the mass media. Meanwhile, he demanded education sector to lead senior and junior high schools in publicizing the programs to pupils and students of final years. He also demanded Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (DOLISA) to propagate the program to vocational schools, societies, and organizations to rightly use the loans if available.
