Early October 19, provincial Department of Foreign Affairs and Department of Education-Training coordinated with South Korean Consulate General in HCM city and provincial South Korea Business Association to organize the 5th program awarding “Kocham scholarship-making dreams come true”, in attendance of Dang Minh Hung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee.
Accordingly, 244 poor-but-excellent pupils were awarded scholarships worth VND660million. Provincial South Korea Business Association also supported VND560million for 7 needy households to build and upgraded their houses.
Mr.Hung said that over the past time, South Korean Consulate General in HCM city, provincial South Korea Business Association and businesses from South Korea accompanied the local administration in taking care of the poor, especially poor-but-excellent pupils via many significant activities such as awarding scholarships, building houses of compassion, giving Tet gifts…with a total value of more than VND5billion. The above donation continued being a great motivation for the local poor pupils, helping them further pursue their learning.
