Department of Natural Resources and Environment (DONRE) informed that 301 drilled wells of 157 enterprises in the province had been properly filled and sealed to protect underground aquifers. Those enterprises have chosen to use concentrated water supply for their operations.
Statistically, Binh Duong Province currently has 185,650 drilled wells tapping underground water at 552,770 cubic meters per day night. Water use of the public is accounted for 69% of the water taken from underground. Currently, the province has fulfilled its project at nearly VND 900 million of adjusting and determining regions of banned or limited underground water tapping. The project is to examine underground water and determine areas of polluted underground water to orient local people to fresh water use and health safety.
