After five years of implementing the project on the preservation and promotion of festivals, gongs and traditional folklore musical instruments of M’nong ethnic minority group, the provincial cultural sector reinstated and organized 38 traditional cultural festivals of the M’nong group.
The statement was said by director of the Central Highland Dak Nong provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on February 1st.
The provincial cultural sector bought 72 sets of gongs for 72 communal cultural houses in villages in the province; and organized 50 classes to teach gongs for 564 M’nong ethnic people.
After the reinstatement of festivals, the departments of culture and information in districts and towns often organizes festivals to popularize specific cultural characteristics of the M’nong ethnic minority group and promote ethnic traditional cultural identities.
