The propaganda of vaccination against COVID-19 among laborers has been promoted by the provincial Trade Union in coordination with all vlevels and local authorities in recent days to ensure the completion of the 3rd dose injection before March 20 under the direction of the provincial Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.
Mr. Luu The Thuan, Head of the Propaganda Division of the provincial Trade Union, said that from January, the propaganda on prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic as well as registration for the 3rd dose injection of COVID-19 for workers at the enterprises have been widely deployed by the labor union to the Management Board of industrial parks and clusters in the area. The trade unions of districts, towns and cities cooperate with the grassroots trade unions to both propagate and register for vaccination so that the medical force can come and inject at the enterprise. This approach has been very effective.
In January, many large enterprises in Ben Cat town, Tan Uyen town, and Thu Dau Mot city completed the 3rd dose vaccination. “Currently, vaccination for workers is still being widely deployed in enterprises, industrial parks and clusters. As after Tet, Binh Duong has welcomed a large number of workers from provinces and cities to work, some people have not been vaccinated with the 1st or 2nd doses. Therefore, the localities and units inject additional doses and combine the 3rd injection for those who have not been vaccinated due to previous infection, illness, and late return home for Tet holiday,” said Mr. Thuan.

Ltd. in VSIP II, said: "To ensure the health of workers, especially in the current period, the company always tries to maintain the disease prevention and control comprehensively at the enterprise according to the "5K" message of Ministry of Health and has never been negligent before the epidemic. In addition, the company propagates to all workers about the effectiveness of the vaccine and follows the roadmap of all levels in the province. Since January, the company has completed the 3rd dose of vaccination; only a few cases of pregnancy or underlying disease that cannot be injected remain.
As noted, most of the large companies in the area with the number of workers from 500 to several thousand have completed 3 doses of COVID-19 vaccines. Mr. Le Quang Nguyen, technical officer of Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co. Ltd. in Ben Cat town said: "The last 4th wave of epidemic has clearly shown everyone the effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccines. If not vaccinated in time, the disease would have gotten worse quickly and the consequences could well be unknown. Nearly 3,000 employees working at the company have been vaccinated with 3rd dose injections before the Lunar New Year 2022. In the company, we are updated with disease information every day by staff, so we know very carefully what we need to know.”
Commitments required on refusing the 3rd dose injection
Talking to us about the progress of vaccination in the area, Mr. Doan Hong Tuoi, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tan Uyen town, said that the locality is promoting the 3rd dose injection for all people living in the area. In industrial parks and clusters, the town's People's Committee assigns the management boards of industrial parks and clusters to step up propaganda and notify all businesses to register for injections. After registration, the medical staff of the Management Board of the Industrial Park and the Department of Industry and Trade will come and vaccinate at the enterprise, ensuring that it does not much affect employment and production. For enterprises outside the industrial parks, the 3rd dose injection has been widely announced by the town's trade union in coordination with the grassroots and local authorities to register for vaccination for workers at the enterprise. Many businesses have vaccinated and have registered to wait for injections.
“The locality has promoted extensive propaganda on the vaccination against COVID-19 to people and workers in many forms. The Standing Committee of the city Party Committee has directed the Propaganda Division of the city Party Committee to promote propaganda on the mass media, on loudspeaker systems, radio stations, and popular social networking sites so that people can raise their awareness in the community regarding the disease prevention and control. The town's current goal in disease prevention and control is to vaccinate to create a ‘steel shield’," said Mr. Tuoi.
According to the report of Tan Uyen town, up to now, the vaccination rate for workers as well as people in the area is quite high at about 85% of the population in the area having been vaccinated with 3rd dose vaccines. Answering our questions about whether some businesses in Tan Uyen town and people avoid the 3rd dose vaccination, Mr. Doan Hong Tuoi affirmed the situation with just a low number. “The vaccination against COVID-19 is voluntary, the locality cannot force, so it is very important to promote propaganda for businesses and people to know the effectiveness of the vaccines.
