Early November 15, provincial People’s Committee held the 3rd provincial Ethnic Minorities Congress 2019.
The event was attended by Hoang Thi Hanh, Deputy Minister-Vice Chairwoman of the National Committee for Ethnic Affairs; Dang Minh Hung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; former leaders of the province; representatives of sectors, departments, mass organizations together with 235 delegates representing more than 28,000 people from 24 ethnic minority groups in the province.
Over the past five years, the material and spiritual lives of the local ethnic minority people were improved obviously, thanks to the attention and support of authorities at all levels. At the event, Mrs.Hanh said that the 3rd provincial Ethnic Minorities Congress 2019 needed to set targets in line with the local real situation to be able to well realize ethnic policies and tasks for the 2019-2024 period.
The congress also sorted out a 6-member delegation to attend the upcoming national-level ethnic minorities congress. On this occasion, 5 collectives and 19 individuals were awarded the certificates of merit of Head of the National Committee for Ethnic Affairs. Provincial People’s Committee Chairman also awarded the certificates of merit to 15 collectives and 13 individuals for their excellent performance in realizing the Party and State’s ethnic policies between 2014 and 2019. In addition, there were 10 collectives and 23 individuals awarded the certificates of merit of provincial People’s Committee Office Chief; 4 outstanding ethnic minority people in production-business for the 2014-2019 period honored.
