40 savings books donated to orphans, due to Covid-19 and children with difficult circumstances

On July 19, provincial Women's Union and enterprises accompanying the "Godmother" program co-held a ceremony to offer 40 savings books to children whose parents died of Covid-19 and those with difficult circumstances. The event was attended by Nguyen Van Loc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee.

This is a program to receive the companionship of businesses that fulfill their commitments and register to support savings books for 40 orphans. It is known that each savings book is VND10 million. Particularly, the Trade Union of provincial Women's Union has sponsored two orphaned brothers with the monthly amount of VND2.4 million until they reach the age of 18.

Speaking at the event, Mr.Loc acknowledged and praised contributions by provincial Women's Union and businesses to the local social welfare, offering timely help to orphans, step by step stabilizing their lives. He also suggested provincial Women's Union Standing Committee to have good coordination with units, families and caregivers of orphans in caring and supporting children as planned for the implementation of the "Godmother" program; continue advising and well realizing a connectivity role under the motto of "where there are orphans, there are godmothers".

Over the past time, implementing the "Godmother" program, provincial Women's Union at all levels received the attention of all-level Party committees and authorities. Up to now, 319 children have been sponsored with a total amount of VND 3.49 billion at provincial level. Districts, towns and cities have also supported 297 children with VND1.9 billion.
