7th Congress of Vietnam Youth’s Union held

On January 24, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth’s Union held its 7th congress, term VI, in Hanoi.At the congress, comrade Phan Van Mai, the Standing Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, was elected as Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth’s Union, term VI.At the conference, the deputies elected Mr. Lo Quang Tu, member of the Standing Committee, Standing Deputy Head of the Department of Youth Gathering Solidarity under Central Committee of the Youth Union, member of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth’s Union, as the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union.The Congress elected Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung as the Chairman of Ha Tinh province’s Vietnam Youth Union; Nguyen Sy Truong as Chairman of the Hanoi City’s Vietnam Youth Union; Tran Vu Duy Man, Deputy Secretary of Da Nang City’s Vietnam Youth Union; Huynh Trung Tru as Chairman of Can Tho City’s Vietnam Youth Union, and the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Youth Union Vietnam, term VI elected 24 persons to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth’s Union, term VI.The Vietnam Youth’s Union set out some basic criteria, including 100% Vietnam Youth’s Union at district levels organizing to honour the outstanding youth for following Uncle Ho’s teaching – live good for the community"; 5,000,000 members participate in voluntary activities for social security and environmental protection; mobilize young volunteers donate 600,000 units of blood and 1,000,000 poor people having free medical treatment.In 2013, all levels of the Union built 1,500 charity houses; 100 safe ferries, 100 safe road-rail crossings; 10 classrooms at the borders, islands, and remote areas; and established 400 foundations of Vietnam Youth Union in non-state enterprises./.VOV
