All pupils felt nervous about new exam forms, affecting exam results. Mr. Duong The Phuong, Director of DOET, assessed, this was a 2-in-1 exam, causing anxiety to pupils. In addition, Binh Duong did not organized local competition cluster, but sent all pupils to HCM City Medical University cluster to take the exam. Marking was also oriented towards university examination, thus it was much stricter.

In the province, 4 schools out of total 26 secondary schools had 100% pupils passing the exam: Hung Vuong gifted high school, Viet Anh school, Nguyen Extension, and Petrus Ky school. Some schools maintained their results, although these are in remote areas, such as: Phan Boi Chau high school (Dau Tieng district), Thuong Tan (North Tan Uyen district), and Phuoc Vinh (Phu Giao district). Principal Tran Dinh Phu of Phuoc Vinh high school said, these achievements came from great effort of all teachers devoting themselves to training pupils during the whole year. This year, the Ministry of Education – Training announced soon subjects for tests, hence their school made good preparation for the exam.

To prepare for the exam, provincial DOET directed high schools in the province to have specific teaching and training plans in accordance with many pupil types in order to ensure 100% pupils having suitable training. Schools assigned head teachers in collaboration with subject teachers to group pupils according to capability and subjects; pay more attention to weak pupils, have flexible training schedules for good pupils, encourage self-learning of pupils. The Ministry did not have test preparation materials, thus the Department organized many seminars for teachers to share training experiences. In general, the whole sector prepared wholeheartedly for this important exam. Pupils realized the importance of the exam; therefore, most pupils had a good sense of learning. Additionally, counseling boards established by schools to give advices to pupils contributed to improving the quality of the exam.

Based on results of the national high school exam 2015, provincial DOET will assess teaching and learning quality of each school, then direct schools to adjust teaching methods for better results in the next exam.
