Workers of Fujikura Fiber Optics Vietnam Company in VSIP I industrial park have been not only inspired due to new initiatives but also proud, because these were from their female colleague Nguyen Thi Xuan.

Nguyen Thi Xuan coming from Tien Giang province has worked for Fujikura Fiber Optics Vietnam Company since 2009. At first, she was a product examiner. After two months, she applied for the position of technician and she was selected. After the probation, she was assigned to manage the team measuring material size in the input test line.
She loves her job and had more than 200 initiatives contributing to the company. Typically, it is the initiative to improve material hinge cutting for holding the cable in the signal transmission. Xuan explained, in the input test line, workers had to cut material to be able to check out while measuring. Subject of measuring is cut surface, so workers had to use razors, which is a very sharp knife and can cause labour accidents. Therefore she came up with the idea of using Jig, which is a tool to aid material, product testing, facilitate measuring.
Before these successes, few people know that she had a childhood full of tears. Her father died when she was 5, her mother had to work so hard to bring up three kids. Xuan used to have a dream to become a teacher, but this dream ended, because of her poor family’s circumstance. Graduating from high school, she had to find a job help mother.
Perhaps, due to initial challenges, the little female worker has had more strength and faith in the future. At the present, Xuan can be proud of her success in the role of manager. In many years, she received certificates of merit from Board of Directors and Trade Union’s Executive Committee of the company. In 2013, she was honored to be one of eight CN employees in VSIP receiving certificate of merit “Good labour – Creative labour” of provincial People’s Committee.
