A healthy, economical and meaningful Mid-Autumn Festival for children

Faced with the situation that many northern provinces and cities were affected by storms and floods, authorities at all levels in Binh Duong directed the organization of the Mid-Autumn Festival for children in a frugal, healthy and beneficial manner, but still ensuring that all children have Mid-Autumn gifts. The above activities aim to continue raising awareness and responsibility of families, communities and the whole society towards the cause of protecting and caring for children.

Mr. Trinh Duc Tai, Director of Provincial Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, led a delegation visiting and giving Mid-Autumn gifts to children having especially difficult circumstances who are being treated at medical facilities in the province.

 Take care of workers' children

In recent days, trade unions at all levels in the province, companies, and affiliated grassroots trade unions have focused their human and financial resources on the beloved Northern region. Therefore, Mid-Autumn Festival programs for workers' children were organized simply and meaningfully.

Ms. Dinh Thi Huong, Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Phong Thai Rubber Company Limited, said that the company organized a Mid-Autumn Festival for about 80 children of workers, each gift worth about 300,000 VND. “This year's Mid-Autumn Festival is more meaningful than previous years. Many children having difficult circumstances took part in the program and saved a small amount of money to support children in provinces and cities suffering from storms and floods. On the part of the Trade Union, we always look after and create the best conditions for children to go to school, especially children in especially difficult circumstances," Ms. Huong said.

Mr. Trinh Duc Tai, Director of Provincial Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, said that every year the department always closely collaborates with local authorities, departments and branches to review the number of children having especially difficult circumstances to promptly have activities to take good care of them; promptly asks the Provincial People's Committee to support gifts for the children during holidays and Tet, encouraging them to continue to strive harder.

It is noted that almost all grassroots trade unions in the province have Mid-Autumn gifts for workers' children, but limit entertainment programs as much as possible. Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Ha, grassroots Trade Union President of Chi Hung Company Limited, where has 7,000 workers, said that the Trade Union gave Mid-Autumn gifts to all workers. However, following instructions from all levels, the company did not organize fun and entertainment activities for workers' children as usual every year.

At the Industrial Park Trade Unions and Industry Trade Unions, Mid-Autumn Festival programs for workers' children are limited, with priority given to children having especially difficult circumstances. Recently, the Binh Duong Textile and Garment’s Trade Union has organized a Mid-Autumn Festival for 131 children of workers having difficult circumstances.

At this program, Ms. Dang Thi Kim Chi, Chairwoman of the Binh Duong Textile and Garment Trade Union, called on union members and workers to join hands and help people in flood-hit areas overcome difficulties; affiliated trade unions continue to care for children, creating conditions for all children to study, especially children living in difficult circumstances.

Many children of workers join hands to aid people affected by storm No. 3 at the Mid-Autumn Festival programs.

Come to poor children

In recent days, the Provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and administrations at all levels in the province also had many delegations to visit, give gifts, and award scholarships to children having especially difficult circumstances. Namely, nearly 1,000 children living and studying at social protection centers and children being treated at medical facilities in the province received Mid-Autumn gifts. The Binh Duong Association of the Blind in collaboration with the Provincial Children's Support Fund organized a Mid-Autumn Festival program and awarded scholarships to students overcoming difficulties and children having difficult circumstances. The organizers gave 58 Mid-Autumn gifts to children in districts and cities. Each gift was worth 800,000 VND (including 400,000 VND in cash, a box of moon cakes, and lanterns). The program also awarded partial scholarships to students...

The Provincial “Poor People's Day” Campaign Committee coordinated with the Ben Cat City “Poor People's Day” Campaign Committee to award scholarships to poor students and students having especially difficult circumstances in the area. Thereby, 60 students from primary, junior high and high schools in the city received scholarships, each worth 2 million VND, with a total cost of 120 million VND, sponsored by Binh Duong Lottery Company...

On the evening of September 16, Bau Bang District People's Committee coordinated with the Provincial Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs held a Mid-Autumn Festival program for children in Binh Duong province in 2024. The program aimed to raise awareness and responsibility of families, communities and the whole society for the cause of protecting, caring for and educating children, and implementing children's rights; mobilize all resources in society to support and care for children, especially children from poor households and in especially difficult circumstances.

At the program, the Organizing Committee presented nearly 4,600 gifts to children, 161 children living in especially difficult circumstances. In addition, the local government also gave more than 200 Mid-Autumn gifts to children of workers living in boarding houses in Lai Uyen town.
