In gratitude days of July, we visited Ms. Tran Thi Hai living in Dong Tu quarter, Lai Thieu ward, who is martyr’s daughter being entitled to preferential policy. Municipal Gratitude Fund built and offered a gratitude house worth VND60 million to Ms. Hai in April 2015. After having a new house, Ms. Hai and her family were happy, stabilized their life, and believed in the Party and State.
Mother Huynh Thi Tieu living in An Thanh ward, Thuan An town lost her husband and children in wartime. At the present, she felt happy, when seeing her hometown was prosperous. Mother Tieu said: “Local government and people have taken care of me a lot. On big holidays, especially on annual July 27th, local government visit, give gifts to me. I feel so proud and happy!”

Mother Hai and Tieu is 2 in 2,823 policy subjects in Thuan An town. Putting more effort into gratitude work, the town has no more poor policy families; 4/10 communes, wards have no policy households having poor housing. Most policy families in the locality have an equal or higher living standard than the average living standard of local people.
The town was also recognized as one locality implementing well gratitude work. Municipal Party, government, unions have specific annual action plan to support policy families, grant loans to contributors for home-based business development, purchase health insurance, pay monthly allowances, and other subsidies for policy subjects.
Particularly, on Invalids – Martyrs Day (July 27th 2014), in addition to central budget, Thuan An town encouraged businesses, units to offer 1,372 gifts to war invalids, martyrs' families with total cost of more than VND606 million; give health check-up and gifts to contributors with total cost of nearly VND95 million; build and repair 6 gratitude houses worth VND270 million.
On Invalids – Martyrs Day of this year, the town will gave 309 gifts worth VND1 million each funded by Gratitude Fund to contributors. Communes and wards will also organize get-together, give gifts to policy families. Municipal Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs Bureau will build 5 gratitude houses and repair 20 houses for policy subjects in 2015.
Ms. Vo Thi Thanh Huong, Head of Thuan An town Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs Bereau, said, although the gift value was small, visiting and giving gifts to contributors and their families on annual Lunar New Year, Invalids – Martyrs Day had a great meaning. This is an opportunity to express the gratitude of the Party and government to policy families, help them to have a happy life.
