As of now, provincial Red Cross Society and its affiliates have donated more than 13,400 Tet gifts worth nearly VND2.7bln to the blind, the poor and Agent Orange victims across the province. Many mass organizations and businesses have also actively got involved in visiting and presenting Tet gifts to the poor so that they can enjoy Tet.

*In addition to Tet gifts for the poor, superior Buddhist monk Thich Hue Thong, deputy head of provincial Buddhist Sangha and Buddhist followers visited and donated Tet gifts to An Son Center for Lonely Disable Old People. Currently, the center is home to 74 lonely elderly people, 5 of whom are aged above 90. Vo Hoang Than, deputy director of the center said that these Tet gifts will contribute to bringing the lonely elderly herein a more significant Tet.
*Similarly, provincial Veterans’ Society teamed up with Lo Hoi Trading Company donated 100 Tet gifts worth VND100,000 each to needy veterans. The company’s distribution center in the province also subscribed VND7mln to provincial Veterans’ Society. *Lastly, Binh Duong Vocational Training Center at K1/A28, Hoang Hoa Tham street, Hiep Thanh ward, TDM town offered 130 Tet gifts worth more than VND40mln for needy people in Chanh Nghia, Hiep Thanh, Phu Hoa and Phu Loi wards. According to center director Le Diem Thuy, this is the regular activity to help needy people enjoy Tet.
*The Saigon Commercial Bank (SCB)’s Binh Duong Branch also presented 100 Tet gifts worth VND200,000, including confectionary, sugar, instant noodle…to households with difficult circumstances in Di An, Ben Cat districts, TDM town’s Hiep Thanh ward. Taking care of poor people on Tet is the annual program of SCB. This year’s program has a total cost of nearly VND800mln for 3,100 households with difficult circumstances living in areas where have SCB’s transaction offices nationwide.
*Yazaki Eds Co. also visited, presented Tet gifts and extended Tet greetings to disadvantaged children, disable people and elderly people with difficult circumstances across the province. The total cost of the donation is estimated at VND40mln.
