On April 4, 2001, the Prime Minister decided to select the day of June 28 as Vietnamese Family Day. Over the past 10 years, the festive day has gradually won a great response from all level agencies and people.Countless people came to Din Ky Tourism Site in Binh Nham commune’s Thuan An district to join in the family festive day held by the district administration. Wives and mothers seemed to be more beautiful than ordinary days because they forgot daily worries to enjoy the festive day. They were also the central people at the event.
At the art category, many families chose songs about father and mother’s love to perform at the contest. Meanwhile, family members were excited with the sports category.
The contest’s ambience became heated up in the category of cooking. With the stipulated duration of two hours, members were in hurry to complete delicious dishes.
Mrs. Pham Thi Truong An’s family in Vinh Phu commune prepared for a weekend party with dishes of spring roll, Grape-fruit salad, braised fish and mushroom hot pot. Her efficient assistants are her husband and children. Besides, other male contestants also joined in the cooking event with numerous delicious and strange dishes.
Happy faces at the contest showed the holy significance of family. Everyone seemed to be more excited than ordinary days.
Bui Van Van, director of Thuan An district Culture Center, said ‘annually, we hold the Family festive day with attractive contents. The 3 most typical families will be selected to join in the provincial contest. The event will help build cultural and civilized families.
Nguyen Van Hung, director of Din Ky Tourism Site, said ‘This is the first year we give a sponsor to the district family festival contest. Like everyone, I always wish to have a warm and happy family. We are used to hold community activities on March 8, Oct. 20 and so on to honor women. And now we decide to organize the family festival annually.
