Under the leadership of the provincial department of Culture, Sport and Tourism, many works welcoming the Party and Spring 2012 are under completion. Colorful lights are hung across streets and many entertainment areas are ready to greet tourists.
Impressed streets
Many local people have been impressed by decoration of colorful lights at Thu Dau Mot town’s central routes of including Nguyen Du, Yersin, August Revolution streets and so on. Le Van Phuoc, chief of the department, said 2012 is the Year of the Dragon, so image of dragons decorated by colorful lights across gateways and crossroads… has not only created attractive pictures but showed Vietnamese people’s cultural tradition of peace and prosperousness.
On Binh Duong Avenue, artisans cleverly
decorated images and symbols of Binh Duong land and people at Go Dau and
general hospital roundabouts. An artisan said “we chose simple manner for
decoration to brighten local cultural beauty. Looking at these decorated
images, tourists will learn more about Binh Duong land and people”. 
Swallow wings and yellow apricot branches that have been decorated across routes leading into Binh Duong New City seems to take Spring to the locality sooner than usual.
Activities celebrating lunar New Year
Many activities celebrating the 2012 lunar New Year will be organized across the province.
Like previous years, the Bach Dang Spring Flower Market will open on Jan.1, 2012 to meet the local people’s demand for flower and ornamental trees during the Tet (lunar New Year) festival.
A Spring Flower Fair will take place at provincial Museum from Dec.28, 2011 to Jan.6, 2012 of lunar calendar, according to provincial Department of Culture-Sports and Tourism. Many various bonsai trees, ornamental stones and strange flowers from artisans in and out of the province will be introduced at the fair.
In addition, provincial Spring Newspaper Fair will be organized at provincial Museum. Also during the time, a fine arts exhibition will take place at Binh Duong Fire Arts School.
Meanwhile, many recreational activities will take place at the Thanh Le Cultural Park from Dec.28, 2012 to Jan.6, 2012 of lunar calendar.
Mr.Phuoc said that along with the above activities, districts and towns will organize art performances, dragon and lion dances at administrative centers on New Year’s Eve. A firework show to welcome the 2012 lunar New Year will be also held magnificently.
