Nguyen Thi Le Trinh, Director of provincial Children’s Support Fund said: “Children with difficult circumstance are at a disadvantage compared with those with the same age. The atmosphere of this year’s mid-autumn festival is approaching, they are very eager to receive moon-cakes and beautiful lanterns from adults. And we helped them reach this dream via the program…”.
Helping children go to school
The program also gave 19 gifts, 362 scholarships, 45 bicycles and 7 computers for poor children with a total expense of more than VND1.385bln.
It is known that more than 40 units supported over VND2.7bln for the program, contributing to taking care of poor children across the province. Over the past time, many units, namely 3/2 Investment and Construction Joint Stock Co., Phuoc Hoa Rubber Joint Stock Co., Friesland Campina Vietnam Co.Ltd., Binh Duong Forestry Products Import-Export Joint Stock Co., offered more help to poor children.
According to Le Thi Thanh, Head of Prudential Life Insurance Co.’s Binh Duong branch, taking care of poor children is a responsibility of the whole society. Hence, the company over time donated hundreds of gifts to poor-but-excellent pupils across the province on each new academic year. The company also supported VND25mln for the program, contributing to taking care of poor children on the occasion of the 2014 mid-autumn festival.
Meanwhile, Tang Phuong, Deputy Director of Binh Duong Lottery One-Member Co.Ltd. said that the company has actively got involved in many social charity activities, including taking care of poor-but-excellent pupils. At the festival, the company also supported VND72mln for 6 pupils.
Thanks to provincial Children’s Support Fund, many children with difficult circumstances had a chance to further pursue their learning and became good pupils over the past time.
The province’s 2014 mid-autumn festival for poor children closed with many beautiful images. Leaders of the province and sectors in the province directly presented mid-autumn gifts worth VND500,000 for participating children.
Vo Van Minh, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee said that over the 17 past years, provincial Children’s Support Fund mobilized more than VND50bln from organizations & individuals and presented 4,797 scholarships, 59 laptops, 956 bicycles, 187 wheelchairs, 40,000 gifts…to children with extremely difficult circumstances on Tet and great holidays; funded heart, eye, harelip-cleft palate surgery for more than 327 children. Also thanks to provincial Children’s Support Fund, many needy cases overcame difficulties and rose up in daily life over the past time…
