Accompanying poor-but- pupils

The scholarships and gifts-giving program for poor-but-excellent pupils was held by provincial Child Support Fund yesterday morning, August 12, in attendance of Nguyen Thanh Truc, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee, Chairman of provincial Child Support Fund.

Accordingly, 305 poor-but-excellent pupils across the province gathered at the hall of Bau Bang district to attend the significant program. Nguyen Thi Bao Tram, a 7th grader of Minh Thanh secondary school in Dau Tieng district said that she felt very happy when attending the program. Along with meaningful gifts and scholarships, she and other poor-but-excellent pupils were encouraged from donors. These will be seen as “sweet” gifts for them on the threshold of the 2020-2021 new academic year.

The 2020-2021 new academic year is approaching, parents prepare to purchase new books, notebooks and clothes for their children. For poor laborers, they will face more difficulties, due to the cost burden of the new academic year. If not being received timely support, pupils with difficult circumstances will encounter the risk of dropping out of school….

Although living in many different difficult circumstances, these 305 pupils have the same dream of going to school. Overcoming hardship, they have strived to rise up and got good academic results. Luong Ngoc Bich, a 11th grader in Bau Bang district’s Hung Hoa commune said that despite different circumstances, they have had the same dream of fulfilling their learning at school in order to get stable jobs in the future, promoting themselves and helping their families rise up out of poverty.

With the support of socio-economic organizations, provincial Child Support Fund awarded 305 scholarships and gifts worth VND1.4million each to poor-but-excellent pupils; offered long-term support in Q2 2020 to 21 pupils with extremely difficult circumstances and donated a bicycle to a pupil with extremely difficult circumstance.

It is known that over the past years, provincial Child Support Fund acted as a bridge between donors and unprivileged children, giving strength to them on the occasion of the beginning of the new academic year, the annual mid-autumn festival, Tet (Lunar New Year) festival…With the program, scholarships are bicycles are significant gifts, helping the local poor-but-excellent pupils further pursue their learning at school.
