Accompanying, supporting young workers

Last weekend, provincial Steering Committee of the Project on uniting and gathering young workers organized a launching ceremony in response to the Workers’ Month and the 18th Young Workers' Week in Thuan An city. Simultaneously, the 2025 "Supporting Young Workers" festival was officially opened. The event was attended by Nguyen Truong Nhat Phuong, Vice Chairwoman of provincial People's Council; Nguyen Thi Tuyet Minh, Deputy Head of provincial Party Committee’s Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; along with leaders of departments, sectors and localities. The event aimed at creating a strong impression in accompanying, caring for and promoting the role of young workers.

A joyful, warm festival for young workers

On the weekend morning, the riverside park in Thuan An city, located on Ngo Quyen street, Lai Thieu ward, became bustling with the lively sounds of the launching ceremony for the Workers’ Month and Young Workers' Week. Energetic songs performed by famous singers excited the attending young workers. A Ri Fin, Head of the Young Ethnic Minority Workers' sub-union in Di An ward shared: "It has been a long time since I heard a singer sing on stage and participated in meaningful activities from the program at the launching ceremony. I am very happy and excited. I hope that there will be more programs like this to create a playground for young people”.

At the ceremony, Tran Thi Diem Trinh, Secretary of provincial Youth Union and Chairwoman of provincial Youth Federation launched a call to provincial Youth Unions at all levels to actively organize practical, vibrant and creative activities linked with digital transformation in Youth Union work, especially voluntary models serving young workers. Notably, these activities are not limited to the month of May, but are encouraged to become long-term focal efforts. This is not only a month of action for young workers, but also an opportunity for Youth Union and Federation organizations to innovate their operations, become more connected with young laborers, help them overcome difficulties and inspire them to strive in both work and life.

She affirmed: “In recent years, provincial Youth Union Standing Committee has led and directed Youth Union organizations at all levels across the province to implement effective models and practices to attract a large number of young workers to join the Youth Union and Federation. This enables us to understand, support and help address difficulties faced by young workers while also advising provincial leaders on policies that opportunely share, encourage and ease the burden for young workers and laborers. Many accompanying activities have been organized to support needy young workers and their children through effective, creative methods”.

In the framework of the program, the organizers honored eight “Outstanding Young Workers of Binh Duong province 2025” — young laborers who have excelled in production, constantly learned and innovated to improve productivity and quality in factories and enterprises. Additionally, 14 outstanding Youth Union secretaries and youth group leaders — dynamic youth leaders from quarters, lodging facilities and industrial parks — were also recognized for their active contributions to organizing care and support activities for young workers over the past time.

One of the highlights of this launch is the encouragement to effectively implement the “Digital Literacy for All” campaign, a program designed to enhance young workers’ digital skills and enable them to access technology for daily life and work. Digital applications will be introduced and taught directly at on-site booths through a series of experience and consultation stalls in industrial parks and lodging facilities with a large number of young workers.

Accompanying, supporting

The Workers' Month and Young Workers’ Week are also opportunities for Youth Union organizations to show timely and tangible care for young workers with difficult circumstances. At the launching ceremony, the Management Council of provincial Support Fund for Disadvantaged Youth presented 16 financial support packages worth a total of VND 115 million. In addition, provincial Youth Union Standing Committee and provincial Youth Federation presented 20 gifts to young workers and 30 gifts to the children of disadvantaged young workers living in Thuan An city.

Nguyen Hoang Thi, a supported young worker emotionally said: “Receiving support from this program, I am deeply grateful to the authorities and organizations in Binh Duong for their timely assistance. I will strive to work better and remain committed to contributing to the enterprise and the development of Binh Duong”.

The Workers' Month and Young Workers’ Week are not only occasions for the Youth Union and Federation to show gratitude and support for young workers, but also serve as a stepping stone to promote sustainable development in Binh Duong province by investing in the local young workforce. It is believed that this year’s activities will continue spreading widely, creating new motivation for young workers to confidently move forward on their journey of dedication, personal growth and career building.

Also in the framework of the launching ceremony, a Youth Workers' Clubs, Teams and Groups festival took place with vibrant cultural exchange activities, contributing to a cheerful and united atmosphere that clearly highlighted the Youth Union and Federation's role as a bridge between young workers and the community. Especially, the chain of activities in response to the Workers’ Month and the 18th Young Workers’ Week will take place from May 11 to 18, featuring practical contents such as career counseling and job introduction programs, booths guiding the use of digital transformation applications and a zero-profit market serving essential needs of young workers. These are highly relevant and realistic models, tailored to the actual needs of today’s young laborers.
