Early May 28, provincial People’s Committee held a ceremony to launch the Action Month for Children and Summer Activities in 2017. Attending the ceremony were Dang Minh Hung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee, Head of provincial Steering Board of Teenagers and Children’s Activities, Head of provincial Steering Board of the Action Program for Children; leaders of sectors, departments, the People’s Committees of districts, towns and TDM city together with nearly 500 Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization (HYPO) members and pupils in the province.

This year’s action month for children will take place from June 1 to 30 with various activities towards the theme of “Joining hands in prevention and fight against child abuse as well as violence against children”. After the launching ceremony, many significant programs such as opening forums on “Children with children”, “Listening to children by heart and protecting them by action”, “Preventing accidents and injuries for children”; visiting and presenting gifts to children on the occasion of International Children’s Day…will be organized.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr.Hung asked for sectors, departments, mass organizations, the People’s Committees of districts, towns and TDM city to effectively deploy the Law on Children; further accelerate communications and mobilize the society to actively respond to the Action Month for Children, mobilize all resources to construct welfare works for children, offer help to those having difficult circumstances, living in remote areas…
On this occasion, provincial Young Talent Fund awarded “Ho Van Men” awards to 17 poor-but-excellent pupils. HYPO members and pupils also had a chance to participate in activities of provincial Festival for Children 2017 such as visiting a booth on books, taking part in folk games, enjoying art performances…
