*Early May 31, TDM city’s People’s Committee held a ceremony to launch the city’s Action Month for Children and the communication campaign on child protection in 2013. At the ceremony, TDM city’s People’s Committee presented 50 gifts worth VND200,000 each to 50 children with difficulties in Phu Tho ward.
*Early May 31, HCM City Book Distribution Corporation (Fahasa) and Binh Minh bookstore presented 100 gifts worth VND11mln to poor-but-excellent pupils in TDM city. On this occasion, the bookstore also opened its book sales program in 2013 summer.
*Thuan An town, on May 31, visited and presented 700 gifts worth VND150,000 each to disadvantaged children in 10 wards and communes and those living at Cho Bung Church in An Thanh ward and Bo de Dao trang pagoda in Binh Chuan ward.
*Tan Uyen district’s Steering Board for Summer Activities, on May 31, held a ceremony to open the local 2013 summer activities with a program “Children love a green-clean-nice environment” and launch the Action Month for Children 2013, in attendance of representatives of steering boards at all levels and more than 500 pupils. On this occasion, the district’s Steering Board for Summer Activities presented 50 gifts worth VND250,000 each to poor-but-excellent pupils.
*Late May 31, Bo De Center for Orphans in Thuan An town held a festive day for nearly 50 children at the center and 100 other disadvantaged children. They enjoyed a variety show, took part in folkgames and received gifts worth VND200,000 each.
*Late May 31, the Women’s Union of Tan Uyen district’s Tan Phuoc Khanh township in collaboration with the district’s Agency of Family, Children, Poverty Reduction and Employment Creation presented 115 gifts worth VND200,000 each to children with difficulties in the township.
It is known that on the occasion of International Children’s Day, the township’s Women’s Union has called for the local lodging sub-unions for women to mobilize organizations and individuals to present 400 gifts to children in 8 quarters.
