Activities show gratitude to national contributors

A number of activities to mark the 67th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27, 1947-2014) have been organised across the country to show gratitude to fallen soldiers and people rendering great service to the nation. (qdnd.vn) Politburo member and Minister of Public Security, Tran Dai Quang visited and presented gifts to wounded and sick soldiers under treatment at the 19-8 Hospital in Hanoi on July 26. The Minister emphasised that the Party and State always pay great attention to people who contributed to the revolution by constantly developing and improving priority policies for war invalids, martyrs’ families, and all revolutionary contributors. The same day, Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee visited and presented gifts to two heroic Vietnamese mothers in districts 1 and 3. Also on this occasion, city authorities organised five delegations to visit families of national contributors and held a ceremony to announce the President’s decision to bestow the ‘Vietnamese Heroic Mother’ title on 182 mothers living in the city. Previously on July 25, Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan and representatives from several central agencies paid a visit and present 50 gifts worth VND1.3 million each to families of fallen soldiers, war invalids and sick soldiers, and sent 50 scholarships worth VND3 million each to needy children with good academic records in the Con Dao island district of the southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.
