TDM city’s Labor Union offers gifts to lodgers with difficult circumstances from contributions by donors
Nguyen Thanh Hoai An, Vice-Chairman of TDM city’s Labor Union said that the city’s Labor Union asked for ward-level trade union locals to mobilize proprietors to share difficulties with laborers during Covid-19 pandemic.
Accordingly, trade union locals of wards in the city were proactive to coordinate with the People’s Committees of wards, mass organizations to mobilize proprietors to give rent fee exemption and reduction for laborers. They also continued realizing propaganda forms at lodging facilities, aiming to raise laborers ‘awareness of Covid-19 pandemic prevention and control.
So far, as many as 150 proprietors have responded to the above program with more than 1,770 lodging rooms with rent fee exemption and reduction at more than VND400million. Some proprietors have offered gifts to needy laborers. “The support from proprietors during Covid-19 pandemic is very practical, thereby helping many laborers with difficult circumstances at lodging facilities…”, Mr.An said.
In addition, the city’s Labor Union mobilized donors to make contributions to laborers with difficult circumstances. Accordingly, the city’s Labor Union organized delegations to offer many significant gifts to needy laborers. Trade Union officials also propagandized and mobilized laborers and lodgers to well comply with regulations on prevention and control of Covid-19 pandemic.
Supporting needy trade unionists was also implemented via policies of the Trade Union. Mr.An added that trade unionists, laborers who have affected by Covid-19 pandemic will be supported VND500,000 per person per month together with instant noodle and rice from donors. “We coordinated with donors to directly offer gifts to needy laborers at lodging facilities. The State’s timely policies plus support from the community during the current period is very necessary, contributing to ensuring the lives of laborers.
