Phu Giao district made efforts in taking care of the poor by many forms over the past time. Accordingly, the district’s Fatherland Front Committee and its member organizations well realized a task of taking care of the poor while supporting loans for members, locals to develop homebased business, rising up out of poverty.
Especially, the district also mobilized enterprises, donors to contribute more than VND1billion to the local Fund for the Poor; built and upgraded 13 “great unity” houses for the poor with a total expense of approximately VND243million. Communes and township of the district also directly mobilized organizations, individuals to construct 6 houses worth VND426million; worked with member organizations to build 7 charity, “great unity” houses worth VND497million; supported nearly VND152million from the local Fund for the Poor for needy cases.
In Q1, 2020 alone, the People’s Committee of the district spent nearly VND23.5billion on taking care of social policy beneficiaries as stipulated; teamed up with provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to hand over 4 gratitude houses to the poor with a total expense of VND320million, funded by Binh Duong Lottery One-Member Co.Ltd.
