On the Tet 2010, provincial leaders directly visited and presented hundreds of Tet gifts to gratitude families, poor ones and children with extremely difficult circumstances. According to Dao Ngoc Nu, chairwoman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee (FFC), the province over time mobilized all forces to recover economy, which was closely linked with the task of ensuring social welfare. Particularly, provincial FFC last year built and handed over 120 unity housese worth VND2.4bln to needy people. On the Tet this year, the province also donated more than 3,000 gifts to the poor and children with extremely difficult circumstances.
Mrs.Nu added that provincial FFCs at all levels have also actively mobilized all walks of life, businesses and donors to share difficulties with poor pupils, disable people, orphans and lonely seniors on the Tet 2010. As of now, there have been thousands of Tet gifts given for the poor. Particularly, Thanh Le Trading-Export Import Co. donated nearly 1,000 gifts worth more than VND200mln to policy beneficiaries and poor people. The VSIP Management Board and companies in the IP presented more than 1,000 Tet gifts worth more than VND100mln to those who live at the social support centers.
According to Nguyen Thi Kim Thu, head of Thuan An district’s Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, in addition to 2,612 those who enjoy the monthly allowance of VND200,000 each, 1,326 poor households and 1,444 households near the poverty line in the district will receive Tet gifts on the Tet 2010. The district has also planned to give more than 500 Tet gifts for disavantaged children with extremely difficult circumstances and needy workers who spend Tet herein. Donors and businesses in and out of the province donated hundreds of Tet gifts to the disabled, the poor and children with extremely difficult circumstances in the district, contributing to helping the poor enjoy a warm Tet.
