Beautiful rural appearance

Determining that building advanced rural areas is a key, regular and continuous task, Party Committee and People's Committee of Dau Tieng District always pay attention to and directs communes to achieve the criteria and targets for advanced NRC. This is the basis to help the district complete the construction of advanced new rural areas and more importantly, realize the goal of improving the life of rural residents. Therefore, although there are many difficulties, Party committees, authorities and the whole political system from the district to communes are determined to successfully implement the goal of building an advanced NRC district according to the 5th district Party Resolution.

Nguyen Thi Ngoc Linh, Head of Economic Department of Dau Tieng district, said that there are 9 out of 9 communes in the whole district that have achieved advanced NRC title, including: Thanh An, Dinh Hiep, Dinh Thanh, Long Hoa, Long Tan, Thanh Tuyen, Minh Hoa, Dinh An and Minh Tan, reaching 81.82%. The encouraging results of the Advanced New Rural Development Program have contributed to the socio-economic development of the district.

Indeed, coming to communes of Dau Tieng district, it is easy to realize the appearance of this countryside is increasingly prosperous and spacious. Technical and socio-economic infrastructures in rural areas are invested synchronously and completely, meeting the requirements of socio-economic development, serving the development of production and life in the countryside.

The quality of district hospitals and commune medical stations is also improved markedly, the percentage of people joining health insurance every year increases from 5-7%.

Modernize agricultural production

Nguyen Phuong Linh, Chairman of Dau Tieng district People's Committee, said that in order to implement the advanced and model NRC, in addition to investment in infrastructure development to create a new appearance in rural areas, the district has focused on restructuring production, gradually shifting to high-tech agriculture combined with processing and restructuring towards increasing added value.

Currently, rubber is still the main crop of the district, the average yield of rubber in the whole district is 1.46 tons/ha, revenue is about VND54.4 million/ha/year. In addition, the district has grown the area of fruit trees to 800 hectares, mainly citrus trees, bananas, melons, avocados... In which, tangerines, oranges and pomelos are concentrated in the northern communes of the district, such as Minh Thanh, Minh Hoa, Dinh An; mangosteen, durian in Thanh Tuyen commune, Thanh An, revenue from VND1.4-1.6 billion/ha/year; bananas is concentrated in Thanh An and Minh Tan communes with more than 330 hectares, with a revenue of nearly VND700 million/ha/year.

Livestock industry of the district gains a fairly stable development. Estimated total cattle herd is over 200,000 heads, meat output for the market is 41,000 tons/year. The proportion of livestock sector accounts for 48.35% of the agricultural structure (in 2015 it accounted for only 14.2%).

In addition to agricultural development, the district has created favorable conditions for organizations and individuals to invest in production, encourage the development of handicrafts, trade and services in the countryside. Up to now, the district has nearly 500 enterprises and 1 industrial cluster that are operating stably.

As a result of investment and expansion, enterprises have created regular jobs for over 14,000 local workers, and the material life of rural people has been significantly improved. The rate of laborers with regular jobs in the district is 98%. The rate of poor households according to the province's new multidimensional poverty line is only 1.29%. The per capita income of rural people has grown continuously, reaching 76 million VND/person/year by the end of 2022.

The results achieved in the advanced NRC have created motivation for the district to complete the goal of 100% of communes meeting the advanced NRC standards, from 1-3 communes meeting the model NRC standards and Dau Tieng district recognized as an advanced NRC district in 2020-2025 period.
