In recent years, working conditions of workers has been taken special care by trade unions at all levels, with the prominence of the green - clean and beautiful movement to ensure occupational safety and health (OSH). This movement has contributed significantly to improving working conditions for employees, reducing the risk of occupational accidents and occupational diseases.

To improve the working environment
New Decor Wood Industries Company has a large, clean and beautiful space with carefully hung motto of OSH. Employees start a work day with the compliance of labor protection equipment. This is a special attention of the company. The company established a first-line emergency team, which were trained by medical professionals and are able to respond quickly. In addition, the company put personal medicine cabinets in each workshop to facilitate the care of sick or unexpected risks. In addition, during the production process, workers strictly follow machinery operating process, periodical maintenance, install qualified items, and make suggestions as well as implement solutions to save water, reduce production costs, and be environmentally friendly.
In addition, every year, workers of the company participate in training of labor safety to raise awareness. Tran Thi Hong Cuc, Trade Union Vice President of New Decor Wood Industries Company said: "The company now has about 700 employees. The company is specializing in wood products, wood processing, so most employees do manual works. However, the company is always aiming at equipping modern machines to ensure labor safety for employees. At present, machinery and equipment in the company are safe for employees. It is from the well-equipped means as well as the knowledge of labor protection, so in recent years, the company has not had any labor accidents."
Greatree Industrial Joint Stock Company (Thuan An Town) also developed a team of pioneering workers. Team members spend 15 minutes every day after work to clean machines, equipment and workplace. In particular, the team collaborated with the company's trade union to organize "Green Sunday" for OSH, for employee health in order to improve working conditions, minimize occupational accidents, improve productivity and efficiency, contributing to building a green - clean - beautiful environment at the enterprise.
Paying special attention
It can be affirmed that OSH has been cared by all-level trade union, employers and employees. From the beginning of the year, under the direction of provincial Labor Confederation, trade unions at all levels cooperated with functional branches to propagate and guide grassroots trade unions in cooperation with business owners to set up labor protection councils, OSH network when being eligible. Currently, the whole province has more than 1,300 labor protection councils, more than 1,700 trade unions with OSH network; these concentrate mainly in state-owned enterprises and FDI enterprises with large production scale.
Huynh Thi Thanh Truc, Trade Union Chairwoman of Wolsung Vina Company (Tan Uyen Town) said: "Right at the beginning of the year, the company’s trade union registered for green-clean- beautiful and OSH movement. Tasks of the movement were assigned from month to month and to each department. The subordinate departments organize periodic practice of incident and fire prevention, actively improve the working environment; handle risk areas, points, loss of OSH and fire and at the same time organize response to OSH". The trade union also focuses on propaganda and supervision of the implementation of labor protection system such as: Full personal protective equipment for employees; 100% employees are provided with periodical medical examinations; fully and properly complying with regulations on resting regime. Equipment with strict OSH requirements is registered for use, tested, maintained and tracked.
Hoyalens Vietnam Company also performed well their labor protection plan. Le Duc Hung, Trade Union Chairman of the company said: "The labor protection plan was developed by the trade union since the beginning of the year with 5 main contents aiming at absolute safety for employees (technical safety, fire prevention and fighting, occupational hygiene, improvement of working conditions, provision of personal protective equipment, health care, prevention of occupational diseases, and propaganda, education and training of labor protection). Especially in the collective bargaining agreement, the trade union was successful in putting these contents into practice. Therefore, employees here are equipped with personal protection, enjoy regime for working in heavy and harmful environment and periodical health examination.
