All people together prevent and fight against the pandemic

 To implement social distancing, from 1 April people of Thu Dau Mot City have strictly complied with the guidance in Directive No. 16 of the Prime Minister on implementing urgent measures to prevention and control of Covid-19". This shows that, once again, people expressed patriotism in fighting against the pandemic like fighting against the enemy.

To strictly comply with Directive No. 16 of the Prime Minister, shops on Tran Hung Dao street temporarily close their business.

People and offices together do seriously

As the central city of Binh Duong province, everyday life of Thu Dau Mot City takes place vibrantly, with diverse businesses and services, but from April 1, the streets have been quiet, all business activities, entertainment services have been ceased. On busy shopping streets, especially at Bach Dang night market and Thu Dau Mot market, most shops and cafes are closed. Big and small streets of the city become spacious and airy. Key roads, such as: On Dr. Yersin, Cach Mang Thang Tam streets, prior to the current epidemic, traffic congestion happened at rush hours, but now the number of people and vehicles on the streets has decreased. However, in order for people's daily life not to be affected, supermarkets and conventional markets are still opened to serve essential needs of people.

According to Nguyen Loc Ha, Chairman of Thu Dau Mot City People's Committee: “Following the Prime Minister's Directive No. 16, the city requires citizens to stay at home, only go out in really necessary cases; strictly observe the minimum distance of 2m when communicating with other people; do not gather more than two people outside workplace, school, hospital and in public places. Together, the people of Thu Dau Mot city have strictly implemented the Prime Minister's Directive No. 16, restrict going out of home in order to protect the health of themselves, family and people around them”.

People's awareness of disease prevention and control has been improved. Most people wearing face mask as leaving the house, some people carefully carry hand sanitizer with them. In public places, people also keep a safe distance as recommended to avoid infection.

Guests or people coming to agencies, offices are strictly examined for health checks. At People's Committee of wards, as people just arrive at the gate, their body temperature is examined and they are asked to wash hands with an antiseptic solution. Thu Dau Mot city People's Committee, Public Administrative Center and Hiep Thanh Ward People's Committee also installed automatic disinfection chambers to ensuring disease prevention. Agencies and offices arrange civil servants and officials to work alternately, minimizing the number of people working at office and encouraging do online work at home. Public Administrative Center of the city and divisions in charge of receiving dossiers and returning the results at wards in the city do not directly receive administrative dossiers but instruct people to submit their dossiers online.

To enhance propagation and examine the performance of Directive No. 16

Until the end of social distancing period, the city continues to enhance communication on disease prevention and fighting to each individual, organization, every lane, every household, especially encourage people to participate in using NCOVI app for voluntary health declaration; at the same time, to intensify the inspection and supervision of the observance of these regulations and strictly handle cases of non-observance and violations; call for all people to join the epidemic prevention and control; all departments, levels in the city also strengthen the inspection and supervision of people's awareness of apply recommendations on Covid-19 prevention. Accordingly, the city People's committee directed public security force to collaborate with related agencies and units to examine the closing of unnecessary services. If a violation is detected, it will be strict handled.

According to Huynh Phi Nga, Head of Culture and Information Office, this unit continues to actively perform prevention and epidemic schemes according to government directive. This unit tasked People's Committee of wards to strengthen the communication, monitor, detect suspected cases of infection to promptly report to the authorities. This unit collaborated with People's Committee of wards to conduct inspection, encourage service establishments to temporarily cease their business activities for disease prevention and control.

An inspection team of culture-society sector also collaborated with public security force and related departments to dispatch troops to nightly perform the inspection, warn business establishments to follow Directive No. 16 of the Prime Minister. Besides, the sector also collaborated with People's Committee of wards to encourage people, organizations and business households to temporarily stop business activities and implement social distancing within 15 days. As a result, the majority of people, organizations and business households strictly comply with the regulations and recommendations.
