Right from the Lunar New Year’s Eve, numerous people flocked to the hub of Thu Dau Mot city to attend the Lady Temple Festival. Thien Hau Lady Temple has lured tens of thousands of visitors per day. Binh Duong Newspaper had an interview with Ly Thien Ky, head of Thien Hau Lady Temple Festival 2013’s organizing board about the event.
More than 10,000
tourists visit Lady Thien Hau Temple per day.
What preparations do Thien Hau Lady Temple Festival 2013’s organizing board make before the festival?
Before the festival, we organized a meeting to agree on plans of the festival. We consider order security and traffic safety for tourists and fire control as top missions. Therefore, in this year’s festive season we continue cooperating with the organizing board to ensure order and security at the temple as well as coordinating with local functional agencies to assure order and safety at the festival.
Are there any differences in this year’s festival?
Like the previous festivals, this year’s Thien Hau Lady Temple Festival has no change. Accordingly, Thien Hau Lady palanquin procession ceremony will take place at some routes of Thu Dau Mot city’s hub. As scheduled, we continue controlling the number of dragon dance teams to ensure time of Lady Thien Hau palanquin procession ceremony.
Accordingly, there will be 30 dragon dance teams inside and outside of the province, decreasing about 10 teams compared to 2012. In addition, the organizing board and 4 groups of Chinese will join in the palanquin procession ceremony. Hundreds of people will be mobilized to maintain order and security during the festival.
Will the number of tourists flocking to the temple increase?
Since the Lunar New Year’s Eve, there are more than 10,000 tourists visiting the temple per day. Possibly speaking, the work of order, security and safety for tourists has been maintained well. The organizing board’s members in cooperation with local functional agencies have set out plans to timely solve problems arising.
In this year’s festive season, we have cooperated with Binh Duong Transport Company to offer free buses to pick up tourists from Thu Dau Mot city’s Lady Thien Hau Temple to Binh DUong New City’s Lady Thien Hau Temple from the 4th-14th of first lunar month.
Thanks a lot!
