Many Binh Duong people have been attracted by an over 100 year-old yellow apricot tree, being exhibited at Friendship Coffee Shop in Phu Cuong ward, Thu Dau Mot town. The ancient yellow apricot tree is from the Mekong Delta province of Can Tho and has been taken care by an artisan for over 60 years. The Friendship Coffee Shop’s owner is a yellow apricot-lover and annually arrives in Can Tho to contemplate this ancient yellow apricot tree. In this year’s Spring, the artisan grants the ancient yellow apricot tree to the coffee shop’s owner.
An over 100 year-old yellow apricot tree has been
exhibited at Friendship Coffee Shop.
It is known that during transport process of the over 100 year-old yellow apricot tree to Binh Duong, ornamental tree traders and some the rich made a price the ancient yellow apricot tree to VND1.2bil but the coffee shop’s owner refused.
At present, the ancient yellow apricot tree has been exhibited in the front of the coffee shop. The yellow apricot’s root has a diameter of about 40cm and its height is in 5m. Phung Minh Tam, the owner of Friendship Coffee Shop said “the yellow apricot tree’s beauty is for everybody. I only takes care of and keeps the yellow apricot tree.”
The coffee shop has been established for over 20 years and been one of beautiful and famous shops in the province. In 2010, the coffee shop received Prof. Ngo Bao Chau’s statue from an artisan.
